Company plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 70 percent
0Washington Gas expects greenhouse gas emissions from its fleet and facilities operations to be 70 percent lower in 2020 than they were in 2008.
The plan includes using natural gas and LEED Gold building standards in its new office and operations center in Springfield.
The company also plans to make energy efficiency improvements at satellite stations in its service territory.
Washington Gas is also scheduled to continue to replace aging gasoline fleet vehicles with natural gas vehicles. This move will double its fleet of natural gas vehicles to more than 200 vehicles by 2020.
